Diversity and inclusion
Every day, we work together to provide better healthcare for our patients. One of the ways we do this is by continuously improving our organisation and creating a pleasant workplace for everyone. At Brocacef Group, we believe it is essential that all current and future employees feel valued, respected, and empowered to be their authentic selves. We are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where everyone has equal opportunities to thrive, regardless of gender, gender identity, age, ethnicity, race, cultural background, sexual orientation, disability, or any other characteristic that makes them unique.

Engagement
To continuously improve our organisation, we ask employees to share their experiences in our annual employee engagement survey. By sharing their experiences, they help us take targeted action and create a pleasant workplace for everyone. Only by working together can we make our work a little better every day.
Connection
We also believe it is important to bring all our employees together by organising joint events and sporting activities, while encouraging and facilitating initiatives from employees themselves. On Monday 10 March 2025, for example, the Ramadan ‘Join In Day’ was organised for the third time. During this day, colleagues could learn more about the special month of Ramadan and experience for themselves what it is like to fast from sunrise to sunset. The Ramadan ‘Join In Day’ is organised on the initiative of a number of colleagues and financially supported by the organisation.
A wonderful evening that brought together colleagues from all over the country. It was special to see how everyone showed a genuine interest in one another and was open to hearing each other’s stories. A true moment of togetherness and connection.

Sporting challenges
Those who prefer to get active could once again join the BENU Run Club in 2025. Under the guidance of former elite athlete Dennis Licht, a group of colleagues from across the country trained for one of the Singelloop running events in Utrecht or Breda. For some, it was their very first running event; for others, it provided extra motivation to keep running or a great way to train for a personal best. Above all, it was a great way to connect with colleagues from across the country.

Bridging the distance to the labour market
We work with various partners that provide opportunities for people with a distance to the labour market. For example, as part of their daytime activities at Reinaerde, clients prepare around 50,000 containers for medicines and other medical products for Brocacef each year. At the HUB in Rotterdam, BENU delivery vans are washed by Greenest Carwash, which provides young people with a distance to the labour market with opportunities to develop themselves.

Boss of Tomorrow
In 2025, we participated in JINC’s ‘Boss of Tomorrow’ programme. The programme gives students from socioeconomically disadvantaged areas an accessible way to discover the wide variety of jobs within an organisation and explore which roles appeal to them. At Brocacef Group, two students had the opportunity to take the place of HRM Director Gwen Melcherts for the day.
Other activities
In addition, we pay attention to national holidays and special occasions, such as Pharmacy Assistant Day, National Compliment Day, Easter, Christmas and Sinterklaas. PHOENIX Group also organises an annual football tournament, and we have an active staff association that offers employees a range of activities, including cultural activities.
