Transport
At Brocacef Group, we use both heavy transport vehicles and small delivery vans. In the 2025-2026 financial year, we further intensified our efforts to reduce CO₂ emissions, with a focus on more efficient transport and smart route planning.
Heavy transport
For external heavy transport, the number of vehicles was reduced by 15, resulting in a reduction in diesel consumption of 128,000 litres and 1 million fewer kilometres driven. This is equivalent to more than 25 trips around the world and has resulted in a reduction of approximately 120 tonnes of CO₂.
Electric driving
We have also taken further steps within our own vehicle fleet. Once again, we replaced petrol and diesel vehicles with electric alternatives. By now, 50% of our delivery vans are electric. Delivery drivers who received a new electric vehicle completed driver training to help them drive more efficiently. At the same time, fewer kilometres were driven as more and more pharmacies have centralised their deliveries, operating them from a central hub and thereby enabling more efficient routes. Since 2025, all new lease cars for employees have been fully electric.
Next step
An important next step for the coming years is to further optimise our operations in collaboration with our customers. Together with them, we want to explore where improvements can be made, for example by limiting the number of urgent orders, reducing the number of deliveries through more effective inventory management and actively supporting customers in this process. In this way, we can jointly take further responsibility across the supply chain and reduce total CO₂ emissions throughout the healthcare logistics chain.
Kilometres driven
Despite the addition of 20 passenger cars to the pool, the number of kilometres driven by passenger cars decreased by 2%. For delivery vans, the number of kilometres driven decreased by 20%, partly due to a reduction of 30 vehicles in the fleet. As a result, we are structurally reducing our CO₂ emissions from mobility.
